This piece was inspired by a conversation that I had with an uncle at the end of his life. He was talking about how full and wonderful his life had been. He saw his share of difficulties but nonetheless seemed to have lived a charmed life. A Blink of an Eye is a reference to the passage of time and how fast it ultimately goes by.
